It has been quite some time since we provided readers with an update on the ongoing comment moderation that we do on this website.
NOTE: Click on images to enlarge. Photographs have been added to serve as visual breaks. To view this article in a range of other languages click on the Canadian flag in the upper right hand corner.

Since January 1, 2025 a total of 207 comments have been identified for deletion before they had any chance of appearing on this photography website.
We are very pleased to report than none of these 207 deleted comments contained any personal attacks or would have been considered to be vitriolic in nature. This is a testament to the mature, thoughtful engagement of our readers.

The vast majority of the 207 comments that were deleted were attempted postings from porn sites. There were also attempts to post comments from other entities trying to market products or services to our readers.
As we’ve stated many times in the past, we will not allow our readers to be subjected to attacks, vitriol, or unwanted marketing efforts from the internet at large.

Our sincere thanks to all of our readers for helping to create and maintain a respectful, informative and peaceful space in an otherwise rough and tumble internet environment.
Technical Note
Photographs featured in this article were captured using a Panasonic DMC-FZ28 bridge camera. All were tripod assisted. All images were created from RAW files using my standard process in post at the time of capture. This is the 1539 article published on this website since its original inception in 2015.

Thank you for your diligent moderation. I usually hop on during a lunch break, and last week my company flagged your site as inappropriate content, and it was unavailable to view. Glad to see that you caught the offending post.
This is my first comment, and wanted to tell you that as a longtime Olympus user, your site is very informative and I am beyond impressed at the image quality you are able to achieve hand-held. Kudos to you Thomas.
Hi Jim,
I’m glad the website has been of benefit to you.
I have no idea why our website was flagged as having inappropriate content. There was nothing unusual that was moderated last week.
Tom
