Presentations

We are available to deliver photography and travel related presentations to camera clubs, garden clubs, industry groups and community organizations. Our geographic focus is Southern Ontario, but we are available for other locations.

We handle all of our own speaking engagements directly with our clients. We are not associated with, or represented by, any outside organizations or individuals. If you see me listed with any speaking or talent related websites, or if you are approached by someone claiming to represent me, please be advised that all of these representations are totally bogus.

Presentations are tailored to the needs of the individual audiences in terms of content and duration. We always discuss the interests of a specific group to help ensure that the content that we present is relevant.

Topic areas include the following:

Handheld Bird Photography

This presentation features a wide range of images captured handheld. There is no discussion about the use of tripods and other camera supports.

While there are some images of captive birds, the vast majority of the photographs in this presentation are of wild birds in local habitats.

Much of the emphasis of this presentation is showing photographs of birds in flight, and discussing some of the technology used to capture these images.

Basic guidelines on camera settings and gear considerations are provided. This can be considered as a gear agnostic presentation as no specific camera format or brand is recommended.

Some suggestions on where to find birds and how to anticipate their behaviours is included in this presenation.

Finding Visual Expression

This presentation is more inspirational in nature and illustrates a number of composition approaches and photographic genres.

The subject matter in the presentation can be custom tailored to the specific interests of a particular group or camera club.

We can custom design content for individual groups and clubs from 30 different topical areas which are available to be included in the presentation. To ensure that the selection of topics is relevant for specific clubs we always meet/talk with organizers about the particular interests of potential audiences.
