Handheld HDR Macro Test
Yesterday I took some time to do a handheld HDR macro test using some of the flowers in my yard as subjects. Like many photographers I enjoy macro photography of flowers. I’m often out at open garden events and other locations in bright, harsh sunlight… which is far from ideal. I’ve been wondering for a while now if I could use the in-camera HDR function of my E-M1X to help deal with harsh lighting conditions.
Importance of Ergonomics
The importance of ergonomics was strongly reinforced for me this past weekend when I participated in a ‘one time only’ extended family event. It was one of those occasions when you absolutely want to come away from a gathering with as many good quality photographs as possible. As we all know, many life events have no chance for a re-do.
Barn Swallows
This article features a selection of handheld photographs of Barn Swallow… many of which are in flight. The images were captured at Hendrie Valley. In my local area I typically have many more opportunities to capture images of Tree Swallows as compared to Barn Swallows. This is mainly due to an abundance of nesting boxes that are frequented by Tree Swallows.
Kingbird Harassing Raptor
This short article features a selection of six consecutive images of a kingbird harassing a raptor in mid-air. An experienced associate has advised that the raptor is an immature Cooper’s Hawk and the aggressor is an Eastern Kingbird (thanks Glen). All photographs were captured handheld with an E-M1X using Pro Capture L in combination with Bird Recognition AI Subject Tracking.
