After some very interesting deliberations, the next chapter in our journey in search of photographic freedom has begun. After almost twelve years of generous support from our wonderful readers, we have decided that it is time to end the monetisation on our website.
NOTE: Click on images to enlarge. Photographs have been added to serve as visual breaks. To view this article in a range of other languages click on the Canadian flag in the upper right hand corner.

To accomplish this task, over the past several weeks we have been editing each article on our website and removing the Donate buttons, as well as all of our eBooks and related marketing.

Rather than continue to have our hand out seeking financial support from our community of readers, my wife and I decided it was time to show our heartfelt appreciation by transitioning Photographic Freedom into a self-funded sanctuary for like-minded photographers.

Where this next chapter will take us is not fully defined. Nor does it need to be. Freedom is all about following our moments of inspiration and creativity. Cascading through life’s opportunities and challenges is energizing and nurturing.

Freedom is being willing to listen to the little voices inside us, and launch ourselves in whatever directions are calling.

Many adventures await us as we pass through new doorways. We hope you will continue to visit with us here… and share in the creative treasures that we call photography.

Glad to hear you are keeping the content, as it is nothing short of excellent — always thoughtful and always helpful. When anyone questions the helpfulness of one of the telephoto zooms, I send them your way!
Cheers, and all the best for new directions.

Hi Terry,
Thank you for the supportive comment! We appreciate you sending readers to the website so they can experience some of our content.
Not so much a ‘new direction’, as a simplified and more focused pursuit of what have always been our core philosophies.
Tom
Best wishes for your new venture.
You have inspired me over the past few years.
Many thanks.
Enjoy yourselves

Hi Ian,
It is great to read that the website and work that we have done has been of benefit to you!
This isn’t a new venture… the only significant change is moving into a self-funded model for the website. We still plan on creating ongoing articles covering a wide range of subjects.
Tom
Tom, best wishes on this new direction. I look forward to each post and anticipate whatever comes will be stimulating. All the best.
Marty
Thanks for the supportive comment Marty… I’ll try not to disappoint you. 🙂
Nothing is changing with the website in terms of content. You’ll still get an eclectic mix of things as you always have.
Tom
Thomas I appreciate the work that you have put in to the ebooks, they are a valuable resource that I frequently use for inspiration. I hope to be able to continue to support in a small way.
Hi Andrew,
It is great to read that the eBooks have been a valuable resource for you. I look forward to our relationship continuing.
Tom
Hi Tom,
Looking forward to what comes next…
Thanks,
Jon
